Beaumont, CA – The School Engagement and Wellness Unit at the Riverside County Office of Education recognized 11 Beaumont Unified School District sites for their excellence in nurturing positive student behaviors and fostering inclusive school environments.
Representatives from the Riverside County Office of Education, Denise Granger and Jasmine Fincher, presented the award at the January 21, 2025 school board meeting. “We have come to recognize the incredible efforts in the Beaumont Unified School District towards positive behavioral interventions and supports,” said Granger.
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports, also known as PBIS, is a school framework that helps students’ control their emotions, improve their academics, and overall mental health. In return, even teachers' well-being improves thanks to a more positive learning environment according to the Center on PBIS.
"We'd like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the school board for your continued support of PBIS and other District initiatives that create environments where students and families can thrive. We're excited for the future and continued positive impact PBIS will make in Beaumont Unified School District,” Fincher told the Board of Trustees.
