What We Do

The Special Education Department identifies, locates, and assesses all students in the District up to 21 years of age who may have a disability. When deemed appropriate, we provide services to meet the needs of individual students.

How Services Are Provided
All services are provided based on the individual needs of the student. After our educational professionals and the parent/guardian determines a students’ unique needs, an Individual Education Program or IEP is created. An IEP is a legal document that describes how Beaumont Unified School District provides services to a student with exceptional needs. Special education support and services are provided under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA 2004).
